About Turtle Tidal Wave

In Memory of John “Doc” LongDuring 2002, John was the President Elect for the Vacaville Rotary. As President Elect he was in charge of fundraising and wanted Vacaville to know that Rotary was “more than just a bunch of old guys having lunch”.

John came up with the idea of racing thousands of rubber turtles down Ulatis Creek. John’s vision was to have a community wide event, not just a fundraiser. An event where Vacaville families could have a day of fun sponsored by the Vacaville Rotary Club.
